It seems that the attention for developing richt internet applications is growing. It has gained momentum since the article about the dissection of Google suggest. I know of two products that provide a framework for rich client functionality: Backbase and Ajax. Although the implementations seem slightly different both products seem to be centered around javascript and the XMLHttpRequest to separate the user interaction from the server interaction.
I have no experience with these products yet but I've heard good stories about Backbase and I am really impressed with the potential that 'Google suggest' implies so I cannot wait to try it out.
