September 21, 2004: Oracle World is coming

Tomorrow (sep 22, 2004) OracleWorld will start in Amsterdam. Although attending OracleWorld in another European capital is a really nice and happy break of the daily routine it's also nice to take the bike to the conferencehall.
I'll skip tomorrow. It's focus will be on Oracle Applications and I'm not very connected to that subject. Thursday and Friday will be interesting. I'll certainly attend the session by Steven Davelaar about JHeadstart. I am not sure yet about the other sessions on thursday. On Friday morning I'll have to choose between JDeveloper, XMLDB and Java JDBC and webservices. In the afternoon it'll probable be about messaging, but the Struts session can be interesting too. The second afternoon session probably will be about SOA.
Unfortunately it seems that the hands-on session are not available this year. I always liked these for getting a little, first, experience with some techniques. Also the demoground can be nice, having the possibilities to meet experts on all the tooling. I like to get more info on the BPEL process manager, inter- and process connect, JDeveloper, JHeadstart, the future of Designer and Forms and a lot more.
Off course, OracleWorld is also an opportunity for meeting friends and relations and have a good time in the bars of Amsterdam and on the evening event in Panama, normally a real good place to go out.
I am looking forward to a lot of information and a lot of fun.
